Next Friday 18th Sept, we'll be in the Yarn Room in Ashford, Co Wicklow having a go at making this lovely hat, just one of Irene's original designs.
Can't help feeling that I'm in on the ground floor of a crochet revolution!

Fair play for trying crochet. The hat looks lovely, perfect for the Autumnal weather. I wish I could grasp crochet, but it seems to be beyond the workings of my feeble brain.
I might have to try again, maybe a New Years Resolution for next year?

Oooooh, that should be loverly.
I did not know the catherine wheel stitche but I have just looked it up and I can now say that it is a catherine wheel variation. I have worked this stitch much less dense than the traditional catherine wheel.
That's a super hat. I'd feel all twenties and literary wearing it. But alas probably all fumbling and awkward making it.
